Kofi Adams Yet to Discuss Andre Ayew’s Omission with Coach

Accra: The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has stated that he has not yet discussed the exclusion of former captain Andre Ayew from Ghana's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz. Ayew was left out of the World Cup preparation camp and a scheduled friendly match against Wales.

According to Ghana Web, Adams admitted in an interview with TV3 that he is uncertain whether Ayew was even considered before the final squad selection was made. He confessed, "I don't know. I've not spoken to him and I've not asked the coach on what was the basis of what he has done."

Adams emphasized that he has not had the chance to converse with Queiroz regarding the squad since it was made public. He mentioned that he anticipates having this discussion soon, saying, "Since the release of the squad we have not spoken, but I will have the opportunity of meeting with him."
