Accra: Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, has expressed that he has never measured his career against those of his father, Abedi Ayew, or his elder brother, Andre Ayew, emphasizing that his focus has always been on carving his own path in football. The Leicester City forward stated his determination to become the best version of himself rather than trying to emulate two of Ghana's most celebrated footballers.
According to Ghana Web, Jordan explained that while he takes pride in his family's achievements in the game, he understands that every player's journey is unique and that comparisons are neither realistic nor beneficial. He stated, "I don't compare myself to my dad. And I've never said I want to be like Andre or my dad. I've always wanted to do my own life and my own career and try to be the best version of myself and make my family proud."
The forward highlighted that matching the accomplishments of Abedi Pele, a three-time African Footballer of the Year, or Andre Ayew, one of Ghana's most-capped players, was never his objective. "I can't be like my father. I can't be like Andre," he added.
Jordan Ayew has built an impressive career of his own, representing clubs in France and England, and most recently Leicester City, while also becoming a key figure for the Black Stars.
