CAF Confederation Cup: Hearts of Oak set to take on Real Bamako from Mali in second round

Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak will begin their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup in October.

The club was given a free pass in the first round of the CAF competition to await the winner of the tie between Real Bamako from Mali and Burkinabe side AS Douanes.

At the end of that tie on Tuesday afternoon, Real Bamako have triumphed after beating the opponent 3-1 on penalties at the end of the second leg.

With the fixture between Real Bamako and Hearts of Oak now fixed, the Ghana Premier League club must prepare for the task at hand.

The match will not be played until October, giving the Phobians a few weeks to prepare for that crucial first leg meeting.

That game is scheduled to be played between October 7 to 9. Later, the reverse fixture will be played on a date between October 14 to 16.

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to do better in the CAF Confederation Cup to get over the poor run in the CAF Champions League last season.

This week, the Phobians are training at the Pobiman Sports Complex as part of preparations for the Super Clash against rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
