Bawumia Confident of Resounding Victory at Polls on December 7.

Accra: The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed strong confidence in a sweeping victory for his party in the upcoming December 7 elections. Dr. Bawumia's optimism stems from his extensive campaign tours across the nation, which have reinforced his belief in the electorate's trust in the NPP government's policies, particularly their fulfillment of promises made during the 2020 elections. According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Bawumia made these remarks during a mini rally at the Okaishie Market in the Odododiodio Constituency of the Greater Accra Region. He emphasized that the electorate appreciates the NPP's accomplishments, such as the implementation of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme, which had been previously doubted by the opposition. Dr. Bawumia also outlined future plans, including the introduction of a flat rate tax system and the Women Trade Empowerment Programme, aimed at providing relief to traders and the business community. D uring his campaign, Dr. Bawumia visited several markets, including Mamprobi Tuesday Market and Makola 31st December Market, where he engaged directly with traders and received an enthusiastic reception. Accompanied by key party figures such as Mr. Stephen Ntim and Mr. Samuel Sarbah Lartey, Dr. Bawumia was greeted with cheers and support from market women and traders, who expressed their appreciation for his policies and leadership. The campaign trail also included a visit to Kantamanto Market, known for its second-hand clothing trade, and a brief interruption by rain at Okaishie Market. Despite the weather, Dr. Bawumia continued his efforts, visiting the NPP's Campaign Call Centre at Ridge to engage with the electorate via phone. Throughout the campaign, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the success of the Akufo-Addo-led government's initiatives, garnering support from both traders and by-standers. The 'meet-and-greet' sessions have become a hallmark of his campaign, allowing him to connect with potential voters ahead of the 2024 general elections.
