Lizzy Gold Criticizes Yul Edochie’s Support of Polygamy in Response to Viral Sermon

Accra:Actress Lizzy Gold has publicly criticized Nollywood actor Yul Edochie's recent defense of polygamy. Edochie sparked controversy after sharing a video of American pastor Israel Ford, who introduced his second wife at a church service, arguing against the exclusivity of monogamy as a biblical principle.

According to Ghana Web, Edochie, known for taking actress Judy Austin as a second wife in 2022, used Ford's sermon to reinforce his stance that polygamy is not a sin. In a post on his official X account, Edochie stated that many biblical figures had multiple wives and that God did not oppose this practice. He further claimed that societal pressure forces many men to remain monogamous, which he believes is not their true calling.

The actor's posts have ignited widespread debate, drawing both criticism and support. Lizzy Gold voiced her opposition in a response on social media, declaring, "Polygamy is a big sin, Yul Edochie… zukwanike," thereby joining the critics challenging Edochie's viewpoint.
