Don’t Turn Parliament House into Boxing Arena – Napo Tells NDC MPs.

Sefwi-Chirano: Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) to refrain from turning the chamber into an avenue for brawl. He emphasized that parliament should be a place for MPs to engage in debates on matters that foster national development rather than inciting chaos. According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Opoku-Prempeh made these remarks during an NPP rally at Sefwi-Chirano in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency of the Western North Region, part of his three-day campaign tour of the area. He implored the electorate to consider the numerous developments and initiatives implemented by the NPP government and vote to keep the party in power to continue transforming Ghana. Dr. Opoku-Prempeh highlighted several achievements of the NPP government, including the introduction of the Free SHS policy, the new cocoa price, the One Constituency One Ambulance initiative, the restoration of tea cher and nurse trainees' allowances, the creation of six new regions, the drone service for emergency situations, and the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP). He also appealed to the chiefs and people of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency to support Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng as their next Member of Parliament (MP) to continue implementing transformative initiatives in the area. The campaign tour allowed Dr. Opoku-Prempeh to pay courtesy visits to traditional leaders in the Chirano Traditional Council, seeking their advice, blessings, and prayers for his political vision. Mr. Richard Joojo Obeng, the Western North Regional Minister, encouraged voters to come out in large numbers and vote for the NPP in December for accelerated growth. Meanwhile, Mr. Alfred Obeng-Boateng, MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, urged party supporters to work diligently and promote the government's achievements to persuade voters to support him and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Nana Somiah Gyamprah, Akyempimhene of Chi rano Traditional Area, welcomed Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh and his campaign team, commending the former Education Minister for his role in implementing the Free SHS policy during his tenure. He also requested the government's assistance to upgrade the Chirano Health Centre to a Polyclinic, convert the community day school into a boarding facility, and establish police and ambulance stations in the area.
