This growth is underscored by a recent study conducted in partnership with PRWeek, which found 79% of public relations professionals believe that press releases are a valuable part of the media mix, with 65% reporting that they work on release content ‘extensively.’

As one of the world’s largest newswire distribution networks responsible for securely and reliably delivering mission-critical communications on behalf of more than one-third of the world’s 2,000 largest companies, GlobeNewswire distributes press releases in 150+ countries and 35 languages to drive visibility for key company news and announcements. It consistently receives praise from customers for offering high-quality support, and earned five badges in the G2 Spring Report 2023, for being highly rated by current users.

The following tips, outlined in Notified’s latest eBook, “How to Improve Your Media Outreach in 2023” – provide guidelines for communicators to optimize ROI for press releases:

  • Understand SEO: improve search engine optimization by aligning keywords with messaging and target audience in a natural way. Remember that the first line presented in the press release is what will be viewed in Google search results.
  • Think Like a Journalist: be impartial and tactical with writing to create snappy, easy-to-read press releases – avoid jargon and be sure to lead with newsworthy facts, using quotes and data as proof points.
  • Use Multimedia to Improve Results: create a more comprehensive and engaging press release by including embedded (and downloadable) images, videos, audio clips, graphics, and other media. In the alternate text for images, add keywords or related search terms to increase search results. Use compressed images and standard file extension names such as .jpg or .jpeg and descriptive titles.
  • Leverage Your Online Newsroom: in a challenging media environment, the newsroom serves as a resource of up-to-date, easy to consume content and a source of information that journalists and stakeholders trust.

Call for Nominations: 2023 Global Citizen Award®

LONDON, April 11, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leading international residence and citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners, in partnership with the Swiss non-profit humanitarian Andan Foundation, is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2023 Global Citizen Award.

Created in 2014, the Global Citizen Award is a tribute that honors remarkable individuals working to advance any one of the global challenges affecting humanity today – challenges that transcend national boundaries and cannot be resolved by any one country acting alone.

The 2023 laureate will be selected by a distinguished, independent committee and honored at the Global Citizen Award ceremony, the concluding event of the annual Henley & Partners Global Citizenship Conference – taking place this year in Dubai from 9 -10 November.

Henley & Partners Chairman and Founder of the Andan Foundation, Dr Christian H. Kaelin, says the awardee’s work needs to demonstrate a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable social groups, particularly with a connection to migration-related issues. “The Global Citizen Award is open worldwide to those working in a field with a direct link to the issues they are looking to affect and excludes political figures, opinion leaders, and celebrities. The committee is looking for remarkable and inspirational individuals who demonstrate vision, courage, and innovation in driving global change, and whose actions and outlook contribute to a more just, peaceful, connected, and tolerant world.”

The selection process is confidential and is based on a majority decision of the Award Committee. The award itself consists of a bespoke sculptural medal designed by leading Italian artist Antonio Nocera, an award certificate signed by the Chairman of the Global Citizen Award Committee, and a monetary prize of USD 20,000, which goes towards supporting the awardee’s humanitarian efforts. In addition, Henley & Partners commits to working closely with the awardee for a period of one year, raising awareness of their work and supporting the selected project through the firm’s network of more than 40 offices worldwide.

Since its inception, the Global Citizen Award has honored many remarkable individuals. The first laureate was German entrepreneur Harald Höppner, who set up the refugee humanitarian aid project Sea Watch. Another recipient was Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman, Founder of the Gift of the Givers Foundation, Africa’s largest disaster relief organization, and Monique Morrow, Co-Founder of The Humanized Internet, a digital identity project that aims to bring hope to the estimated 1.1 billion individuals in the world who cannot prove their legal identity. Diep Vuong, Co-Founder and President of the Pacific Links Foundation, was awarded for her work in Southeast Asia campaigning for the rights of those enslaved by human trafficking, and Prof. Dr. Padraig O’Malley received his Global Citizen Award in recognition of his work on conflict resolution and reconciliation in Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Iraq.

Commenting on the award’s history and significance, Dr Kaelin says global citizenship ideals are a founding principle of Henley & Partners, and through its partnership with the Andan Foundation, the firm is able to provide support to those global citizens displaced by war, conflict and climate change. “All of our Global Citizen Award laureates have inspired us with their willingness to act in confronting a problem that many see as simply too vast to address. The issues that we face today transcend the family, the tribe, the village, and the nation. It’s more critical than ever that we do what we can to support those working on initiatives that directly change the lives of vulnerable people around the world.”

Nominations close on Friday, 30 June 2023. For more information on how to submit your nomination, please contact Tina Savic at tina.savic@andan.org

Mohammed Kudus: Manchester United firmly lead race to sign Ghana star

Manchester United have intensified their interest in Ghana and Ajax star Mohammed Kudus following his intriguing performances in the ongoing season.

The Premier League side are ahead of five other clubs pursuing the services of the talented footballer.

Kudus who almost left the club to seal a deal in Everton in pursuit of playing time is currently experiencing his best-ever season in his career after Ajax blocked the move last summer.

The 22-year-old has been Ajax’s marksman especially in the Eredivisie scoring 11 and assisting twice. He carried his monstrous form with him to the 2022 World Cup while playing for Ghana and stood out once more with great performances in Ghana’s three group games.

The performance drew a number of interest from clubs across the top European Leagues including Borrusia Dortmund, Barcelona, and Manchester United.

Ajax, however, did not buy into the idea of selling him that early prompting some of the clubs to give up.

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Haag seems to have a genuine interest in reuniting with Mohammed Kudus to help solve his attacking problems.

Ten Haag since taking over from Ragnick in the summer has largely relied on Marcus Rashford for goals and is keen on bringing in more options upfront in the summer and Kudus seems to tick the required boxes for what Manchester United lacks.

Before bowing out of the UEFA Champions League group stages, Kudus was a force to reckon with scoring four goals in six games.

He is currently nursing a muscle injury which he picked up last week and is expected to be back on the pitch in two weeks.

Rio Ferdinand hits back at Carrahger over ‘Van Dijk is far better than Vidic’ claim

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has hit back at ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher over his claim that Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is far better than Manchester United legend, Nemanja Vidic.

According to Rio Ferdinand, Carragher’s analogy of Fernando Torres torturing Vidic in Manchester United-Liverpool games is flawed because Marcus Rashford has scored more goals against Liverpool than Torres did against Manchester United.

Ferdinand admitted that his former centre pair had bad games and got sent of a couple of times against Liverpool but that does not justice Carragher’s argument.

“I saw Jamie Carragher tweet something about Van Dijk being better than Vidic. I don’t know why, or why that was said or whatever.

“He mentioned [Fernando] Torres – I think Torres scored three goals in 15 games against Vidic. I think it’s a bit of a myth. I think he had a couple of dodgy moments in those games, and he got sent off a couple of times, but that’s kind of been amplified into saying he got tortured every time we played against Torres, which wasn’t the case,” he said on the Vibe with Five podcast.

“Three goals in 15 games. [Marcus] Rashford I think has got six in 13 games against Liverpool, does that mean he’s tortured Van Dijk and Van Dijk can’t handle him? Because that’s what you’re saying about [Vidic], if we’re using the same methodology that we’re using for Vidic with the way Rashford is scoring goals against Liverpool, just under one every two games. I don’t know,” he added.

The former Manchester United centre-back, who could not wrap his head around how Vidic entered the debate, explained the reason behind Van Dijk’s poor form.

“I don’t know why Vidic’s name was thrown in there. People are hammering Virgil van Dijk about his performances this season, he’s had a bit of an off-season – which he has, and I think he’d admit that.

“It’s mad. He’s prime time as well. The problem is he had a big injury, and that injury was one where people said, “Can he come back from that injury?” Next season is going to be the telling one. He’s had this season to get himself fit, to get himself up to speed.”

Jamie Carragher, in response to a tweet about Van Dijk’s poor form, stated that the Liverpool man is “far better than Vidic.”

“VVD is far better than Vidic, who was a top CB, but have you forgot his performances against Torres?” he tweeted.

He further linked Van Dijk’s poor season to spell those of great defenders like Rio Ferdinand and John Terry.

“Rio and JT had poor seasons in their career like all players, VVD is having one now.”

He also argued that no centre-back in Premier League history has ever had such an impact on a team as Van Dijk.

“No CB in the PL era has ever had VVD’s impact on a team,” he concluded.

There are attempts to sabotage Dede Ayew in Black Stars – Dan Kwaku Yeboah alleges

Ghanaian sports journalist Kwaku Yeboah has alleged that there are attempts by some people within the hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to sabotage Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew.

According to the spokesperson of the GFA Normalization Committee, the attempts to sabotage Andre were brought to light when his name was removed from the team sheet for Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Kwaku Yeboah claimed that Chris Hughton included Andre Ayew’s name in the team sheet despite dropping him from the starting eleven but was removed after the coach had submitted his team list.

“Kwami, there are attempts to sabotage him (Andre Ayew) to some extent. Kwami have you asked yourself why a coach will ask a player to warm up if he did not include him in his team sheet for the match day?”

“The coach will do his lineup plus and substitution and submit it to the team manager. So how Andre Ayew’s name got missing from the team sheet is still a mystery,” Dan Kwaku Yeboah said on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo show, monitored by GhanaWeb Sports.

Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew is yet to play in the team under the tenure of new coach Chris Hughton after not being used in 2023 AFCON qualifier in Kumasi and pulling out of the second leg in Luanda through injury.

The Black Stars won 1-0 in Kumasi and drew 1-1 with Angola in Luanda to move to the top of Group F table in the qualifiers.

We need to pick up more points – Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew

Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew wants to help his Crystal Palace outfit to secure more points after humiliating Leeds United in the English Premier League Sunday on April 9, 2023.

Jordan Ayew scored a brace as Crystal Palace inflicted a 5-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road.

The 31-year-old seems to have found his scoring boots under Roy Hodgson after scoring two in two games.

After the game, the Black Stars forward charged his teammates to keep their heads up in order to win more points in the remaining matches.

“I really enjoyed it. It’s not often it happens, and when it happens you have to embrace it and enjoy it,” he told Crystal Palace TV.

“I’m pleased with our performance. We stuck to our game plan. It wasn’t easy at the beginning, but this is the Premier League: you’re playing against good sides and sometimes it’s going to be difficult. You just need to get through it and when you have your moments, you punish them.”

“It was a really good day, and we’re all happy, but we know that there are still eight games to go and we need to pick up more points,” he added.
