Innovation for 5Gigaverse, Huawei Unveils Its Latest Wireless Solutions and IntelligentRAN Architecture

BARCELONA, Spain, March 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — At Mobile World Congress (MWC22), Huawei unveiled its latest wireless products and solutions — third-generation TDD M-MIMO products and FDD ultra-wideband multi-antenna products. Huawei also introduced its newly released IntelligentRAN architecture at the press conference.

Gan Bin, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Wireless Solution, gave a keynote speech titled “Innovation for 5Gigaverse Society” during the press conference. He said, “5G’s large-bandwidth and multi-antenna technologies have brought tangible benefits. But we do not stop here; instead, we move ahead and continue to innovate in these two areas. Our third-generation Massive MIMO and FDD ultra-wideband multi-antenna portfolios further improve network performance and energy efficiency. They greatly boost operators’ confidence in building high-quality and green 5G networks.”

The third-generation TDD Massive MIMO series includes the third-generation MetaAAU and BladeAAU series. The third-generation Massive MIMO doubles antenna elements of its previous generation from 192 to 384, making it the only one in the industry to have done so.

The third-generation MetaAAU uses the extremely large antenna array (ELAA) and Adaptive High Resolution (AHR) Turbo beamforming algorithm to achieve breakthroughs in Massive MIMO performance and energy efficiency. Compared with traditional 64T, the coverage of this product is improved by 3 dB and user experience by 30%. Compared with traditional 32T, the coverage is improved by 6 dB and user experience by 60%. And compared with traditional AAUs, the power consumption is reduced by about 30% when coverage counters remain unchanged. For scenarios using discrete spectrum or requiring network co-construction and sharing, ultra-wideband products with a bandwidth of 400 MHz and a transmit power of 400W would be very helpful for implementing simplified deployment. In scenarios where antenna space is limited, Huawei’s BladeAAU series implements simplified deployment of all sub-6 GHz frequency bands, facilitating deployment in all scenarios.

FDD ultra-wideband multi-antenna products include: the industry’s lightest true wideband 4T4R RRU, which supports simplified deployment of 700–900 MHz and 1.8–2.6/1.4 GHz multi-band networks and dynamic power sharing across all modes, improving user experience by 30% and reducing power consumption by 30%; and the industry’s first high-power ultra-wideband 8T8R, which uses the combination of 1.8 GHz and 2.1 GHz to provide equivalent coverage to the sub-1 GHz band, benefiting both 4G and 5G networks by increasing their capacity by 1.6 and 3 times, respectively. With the industry’s only 8T8R native, green antenna of the Hertz platform, the energy consumption is further reduced by 15%. For scenarios requiring large capacity, Huawei provides the industry’s only commercial FDD Massive MIMO, which increases 4G network capacity by 3 times compared with 4T networks and 5G network capacity by 5 times.

Furthermore, for residential areas and urban hotspots, Huawei has launched the TDD and FDD dual-band EasyMacro 3.0 and Book RRU 3.0 solutions to simplify on-demand deployment and quickly fill 5G coverage holes. To meet requirements for indoor areas such as railway stations and shopping malls, Huawei provides the industry’s only distributed Massive MIMO. It improves capacity by 4 times compared with 4T and user experience by more than 30%, creating ubiquitous indoor gigabit experience.

Another highlight of the release is Huawei’s IntelligentRAN. According to Gan Bin, this architecture brings intelligence to almost all aspects of a wireless network from experience, green, service to O&M. It leverages the Mobile Intelligent Engine (MIE) to enable network autonomy through data, model, and decision collaboration between site layer and network layer. Key benefits of the IntelligentRAN architecture include:

– Smart Experience: Enable optimal experience base on heterogeneous network by introducing 3 key technologies: L3 intelligent grid, L2 scheduling dictionary, and L1 channel graph, which can improve user experience by more than 50% on multi-band and multi-site networks.

Smart Green: Maximize energy efficiency with continuous experience by introducing Mobile Intelligent Engine – NRT(Non-Real-Time)and RT(Real-Time), which will optimize the energy saving strategy in terms of multi-dimensional parameters to ensure maximal effect across networks.

-Smart Service: Achieve accurate provisioning and reliable SLA with Mobile Intelligent Engine, which will adjust network parameters based on SLA-network in real time and provide reliable SLA assurance without affecting the experience of other services.

– Smart O&M: Implement zero-fault and zero-downtime networks that support intelligent fault identification, diagnosis, prediction and prevention.

Gan Bin concluded: “Huawei’s IntelligentRAN implements zero-wait, zero-trouble, zero-touch networks. It enables autonomous networks featuring smart service, optimization, green and simplified O&M. Furthermore, it facilitates operators to explore new space and business forms of 5G.”

Multi-Guard Structure comprising 25 different bezel components

Casio to Release the First MR-G to Feature the Iconic Design of the Original G-SHOCK

Multiple Components for Meticulous Finishes with Master Polishing Craftsmanship

TOKYO, March 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the release of a new addition to the MR-G series, the flagship line of the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The new MRG-B5000 is the first MR-G timepiece to feature the iconic design of the very first G-SHOCK.

With a nod to the design of the DW-5000C, the first-ever G-SHOCK released in 1983, the MRG-B5000 now brings a brilliant shine and dignified distinction to the shock-resistant watch by employing cutting-edge metals finished with master polishing craftsmanship.

In order to apply sophisticated polished finishes to even the tiniest corners of the complex bezel form, which is made of 25 different components, Casio developed the new Multi-Guard Structure. The new structure incorporates shock-absorbent parts in the multi-component bezel to ensure excellent shock-resistance, while also allowing polished finishes to be applied to each individual component, down to the most challenging spots, for a stunningly beautiful finish. The band employs a special structure, as well, with separate pins embedded in round holes in each metal link, to allow detailed polishing for an equally beautiful finish on the band.

MRG-B5000B / MRG-B5000D

The quality of the master polishing craftsmanship really shows on the cutting-edge, made-in-Japan materials used for the MRG-B5000. COBARION, which has a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum, is used for the top surface of the bezel. The band is made with DAT55G, a titanium alloy that is both about three times harder than pure titanium and highly workable, making it scratch-resistant and ensuring a long-lasting, beautiful mirror finish.

Masterfully crafted polishing and meticulously selected materials come together to create a timepiece worthy of that original design, but with the trademark quality of the MR-G line, which stands at the pinnacle of the diverse family of G-SHOCK watches.

Multi-Guard Structure comprising 25 different bezel components

When it comes to function, the MRG-B5000 features radio-controlled calibration and Smartphone Link connectivity. The watch connects with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES smartphone app to automatically adjust to the correct time. It also comes equipped with a solar charging system and high-brightness LED light for added convenience.

As with other MR-G watches, the MRG-B5000 is crafted on the high-end Premium Production Line at Yamagata Casio, the “mother factory” of Casio watch production.

* COBARION is a trademark of a cobalt-chromium alloy manufactured exclusively by Eiwa Corporation.

* DAT is a registered trademark of Daido Steel Co., Ltd. in Japan.

Great Olympics Coach optimistic about title winning chances

Accra, – Annor Walker, Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics is hopeful of winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title, after their 2-1 win over Real Tamale United (RTU) on Monday.

The ‘Dade Boys’ secured all three points in their opening game of the second round after a last-gasp winner by Ibrahim Sulley as they moved second on the league table and are only nine points adrift of leaders, Asante Kotoko.

Speaking in a post-match interview after their victory, the experienced gaffer couldn’t hide his excitement over the late winner having said that it would further motivate the boys to give a good chase to this season’s title.

“I would like to thank the Almighty God and my players for working hard to get this victory. Before the match, I told my boys they couldn’t take RTU for granted because they were a very good side, especially having watched their last game against Hearts in Tamale.

“For us, the target is to secure a top-four place but when the need comes, I may win the league title and this win against RTU would really motivate us going forward,” he said.

Coach Walker urged fans to rally behind the team, especially in the second round where games would be much tougher.

Great Olympics would have a massive opportunity to close the gap at the top when they face Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium come Sunday.

Tema Polyclinic recorded 106 HIV infections in 2021

Tema, – The Tema Polyclinic recorded a total of 106 positive cases of HIV infections in 2021 – an average of nine infections every month.

Nana Tekyiwaa Frempoma II, the Principal Midwifery Officer in Charge of the Anti-Retroviral Therapy and Sexual Transmitted Infections, said this called for increased public education to stop the spread of the infection.

She told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that they saw 10 positive cases in the first month of this year.

Two of the infected persons are teenagers and there is also one infected pregnant woman.

Nana Frempoma, who is also the Nimfahema of the Efuti Traditional Area, said people must protect themselves from the infection by either abstaining from sex or using the condom.

She encouraged people to go for voluntary tests to know their HIV status, adding that the test was free.

Dr. Stephen Ayisi Addo, Programmes Manager, National AIDS/STI Control Programme, has announced that more than 900 people died of HIV between January and June, last year, more than COVID-19 deaths in the country during the same period.

He told the Ghana News Agency that “HIV is worse than COVID-19”, adding that new cases of HIV were being recorded among persons aged between 15 and19 years.

What this means is that new infections are appearing in the younger age group.

Dr. Ayisi Addo said persons who were cohabiting had the highest prevalence of 3.5 per cent, while singles accounted for 3.1 per cent and the married 2.5 per cent.

To stop the spread, he said the education campaign needed to be ramped up.

NPP will work hard for victory in election 2024—Ahenkorah

Tema, – Mr. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema West Constituency, has underlined the determination of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard for victory in the 2024 general election.

He said the party was not going to be complacent and that they would work with zeal and unity of purpose to break the eight-year jinx, the situation where none of the political parties had held on to political power beyond eight years running.

Mr. Ahenkorah, who was a former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, expressed optimism that Ghanaian voters would return the party to government.

Speaking at a programme in Tema, he said the government’s signature social interventions had and continued to impact the lives of many people in the country and they would want these life-changing interventions to be sustained.

These interventions must be protected, and any change of government would put them in jeopardy.

He made a reference to the free Senior High School (SHS) and said the benefits had been tremendous.

“It’s the responsibility of every Ghanaian to protect the state, a working political party whose governance architecture is in the interest of the nation must be allowed to continue after two terms even when there is the change of its presidential candidate.”

Mr. Ahenkorah explained that the economy was doing well until COVID-19 pandemic struck and he said everything was being done to get the economy back on track and working again.
