Accra: Ghanaian music star KiDi has recounted how he was rejected by an institution after being posted there as a National Service Personnel. In an interview with Kafui Dey, shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 25, 2026, KiDi revealed that his boss simply told him he could not work there without giving him any tangible explanation.
According to Ghana Web, the incident happened on his first day at the institution, forcing him to seek a reposting to the National Service Headquarters. KiDi shared that initially, he was placed at the Presbyterian headquarters in Osu, where he was unexpectedly told by the boss, ‘You can’t work here.’ This rejection came despite KiDi having completed his education in 2016 and already being signed to Lynx Entertainment, which required him to balance his burgeoning music career with his mandatory national service.
KiDi noted that combining his music career with National Service presented its challenges. Lynx Entertainment CEO Richie Mensah questioned why KiDi was still engaged in national service after his signing. Despite these challenges, KiDi remained committed to fulfilling the service requirement, even though it meant facing confusion and hurdles at the National Service Headquarters. He expressed the difficulty of managing studio recordings, show preparations, and interviews alongside his service obligations.
