Yadzo: Mr Adam Nafiu, Assemblyman of Yadzo Electoral Area in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, has announced his candidacy for the Akan Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser position in the upcoming internal party elections.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Nafiu revealed that his motivation to contest stems from a desire to mobilise and empower the youth within the party, thereby strengthening its grassroots support. He highlighted his four years of experience as an Assemblyman, combined with his commitment to party development, as valuable assets that would enable him to serve the youth wing effectively.
Mr Nafiu expressed confidence that his experience in local governance and his connection with the grassroots would facilitate effective collaboration with the youth to enhance the party's prospects. He called on delegates in the Akan Constituency to entrust him with their mandate, promising hard work, inclusiveness, and dedication to the party's progress.
Emphasising unity as a crucial factor, Mr Nafiu urged party members to remain united and focused on the party's collective interest to recapture political power in the 2028 general elections. He cautioned against divisive comments and activities that could foster disunity, advocating instead for mutual support and collaboration towards shared objectives.
If elected as the Constituency Youth Organiser, Mr Nafiu pledged to advocate for youth development initiatives, political education, and active participation of young people in party activities. He remains optimistic about the NPP's potential to become stronger ahead of the next general elections through effective grassroots mobilisation, discipline, and unity among its members.
