Accra: The BOSTenergies Ladies Association (BOSTLA), the women's association of BOST Energies Limited, has marked its 10th anniversary with a renewed call for stronger support for women in the workplace. The anniversary was celebrated under the theme, 'A Decade of Excellence: Honouring the Foundation, Inspiring the Next Generation,' highlighting BOSTLA's decade-long commitment to promoting women's empowerment, professional growth, and workplace equality.
According to Ghana Web, the celebrations commenced on August 10, 2026, featuring a series of activities such as a panel discussion, a side-hustle exhibition, a corporate food bazaar, a thanksgiving and durbar, and a grand black-tie gala. A significant highlight was the panel discussion involving BOSTLA's patrons and matrons, focusing on workplace equality, career growth, and mentoring younger women for leadership roles.
BOSTLA provided a platform for its members to showcase their entrepreneurial ventures through a side-hustle exhibition, promoting their products and activities beyond their corporate roles. During the thanksgiving and durbar, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim emphasized the need for increased focus on gender equality in the workplace and policies that ensure equal opportunities for women's growth and leadership.
Special Guest Linda Ampah urged members to invest in personal development and pursue leadership opportunities. The event also brought together women's associations from the energy sector, including PELA of the Petroleum Commission, Power Queens of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), NAPET Ladies of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), and GAS Ladies of Ghana Gas.
The anniversary concluded with a black-tie gala on September 5, featuring a documentary on BOSTLA's 10-year journey, entertainment, and the presentation of citations to founders, past executives, and current leaders. BOSTLA President Beatrice Amofa Boateng expressed gratitude to Managing Director Afetsi Awoonor for his support, stating that the decade has demonstrated the power of united corporate women with shared goals.
She affirmed that BOSTLA is entering its next decade with a solid foundation to inspire and prepare the next generation of female leaders.
