Adaklu: A three-classroom block for Adaklu Ablornu Junior High School and a Health Centre at Adaklu Kpetsu, which were abandoned, are among key development projects currently being undertaken by the Adaklu District Assembly. These projects are considered critical to improving both education and healthcare in the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive, disclosed this on the sidelines of a special meeting of the Adaklu District Assembly held at Adaklu Waya to elect a Presiding Member. He stated that the resumption of work on these projects was in line with President John Mahama's directive to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to complete all projects initiated during his first term in office that were abandoned by the previous government.
The DCE noted that this was a decisive action he had taken in collaboration with Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, to implement the President's vision in the district. 'The Assembly has prioritized the completion of these key projects abandoned by the previous administration,' he said. Mr. Ameko stated that contractors were currently working urgently to ensure the timely completion of the projects.
He emphasized that the Assembly, in collaboration with Mr. Agbodza, was working to provide all schools in the district with a conducive teaching and learning environment. Mr. Ameko highlighted the improvement in access to healthcare delivery for the people, reducing the need for them to travel long distances to seek medical care.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the accelerated development of the district to help improve the socio-economic well-being of the people. 'These efforts reflect our commitment to the total development and transformation of the district,' he stated. The DCE appealed to the people to exercise restraint as all sectors of development were being tackled by the government in the district, including their roads.
