Kumasi: A Kumasi-based driver, George Osei, and his long-term partner, Alice Frimpong, are locked in a contentious dispute over the future of their 14-year relationship, with both parties voicing serious allegations against each other.
According to Ghana Web, Alice Frimpong, who shares three children with George and has endured two miscarriages, disclosed that despite their long-standing relationship, George has refused to marry her. She attributes this decision to her comments about his manhood and a confrontation she had with another woman allegedly involved with George.
Alice spoke on Lawson TV's Afisem, a program dedicated to domestic and relationship issues, where she accused George of being involved with multiple women throughout their relationship. She recounted, "I take care of him whenever work becomes slow for him. Recently, he became involved with a lady called Akua and I warned her to stay away. One day she called him and I threatened that if she continued calling, I would curse her."
Alice noted that George later used her actions and comments as justifications for halting their marriage plans. She claimed that they initially lived in her mother's house until her mother allegedly asked her to leave, expressing disapproval of their potential marriage.
Alice recounted an incident where George declared he could not marry her because she had cursed another woman and jokingly commented on the size of his manhood. She admitted to making the remark but insisted it was meant in jest, saying, "I said it but I was joking with him. I told him that if he thinks manhood is for sale, then he should go and buy some to add to his own."
As the situation stands, Alice is seeking financial compensation if George remains unwilling to marry her. She stated her demands clearly: "If he says he won't marry me, then I want GHS20,000 as compensation and an additional GHS150,000 to rent a house for myself and my children. For me, I also cannot marry him anymore."
