Woman Storms Live TV to Expose Mother-in-Law’s Alleged Affair with Her Husband

Kumasi: A woman identified as Angelina has publicly accused her mother-in-law, Maame Akosua Appiah, of allegedly having an intimate relationship with her own son, Phillip Yaw Attobrah. Speaking in a video snippet sighted by GhanaWeb on June 28, 2026, Angelina alleged that she first became suspicious during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, when her husband left their matrimonial home to live with his mother. According to Ghana Web, Angelina claimed that during the lockdown, her husband packed his bags and went to live with his mother. When questioned, he reportedly told her that his family would be responsible for his burial should anything happen to him. Angelina sought the help of journalist Ohene Nana to resolve the matter, and it was then revealed that her husband had been living at his mother's house rather than with another woman. Angelina stated that this situation has strained her marriage, as her husband gradually abandoned his household responsibilities. She mentioned that there were periods of up to three months without any intimacy between them. Currently unemployed, Angelina reported that her husband has refused to provide for their children and take care of the household. Angelina further alleged that her mother-in-law admitted to having an intimate relationship with her son, leading her to report the issue to family members. Despite a family meeting, her husband left their home and subsequently blocked her phone number. Producers of the Oyerepa Afutuo programme, on which the allegations were made, stated they contacted both Phillip Yaw Attobrah and Maame Akosua Appiah, who initially agreed to respond to the claims. However, they allegedly failed to answer subsequent calls during the broadcast. During the programme, Angelina played audio recordings she claimed were telephone conversations involving her husband and mother-in-law. She asserted that the recordings supported her allegations, though both individuals denied any inappropriate relationship. Angelina challenged both her husband and mother-i n-law to publicly refute her claims and expressed her willingness to bring the matter before traditional authorities if necessary.
