Kumasi: A video has surfaced online involving a young mother identified as Amina Issah, who allegedly fabricated a sympathy story to scam media personality Auntie Naa of Oyerepa FM. In the footage sighted by GhanaWeb on March 11, 2026, Amina Issah, who appeared on Oyerepa FM's popular radio show, claimed that her husband had died in a car accident.
According to Ghana Web, Amina stated that she was a single mother who had saved about GHS10,000 and entrusted the money to someone to purchase a fufu machine for her, only for the person to disappear with the funds. However, midway through the show, the host, Auntie Naa, whose attention had been drawn to the issue by listeners, revealed that the story being told by Amina was false.
When further questioned by the host, Amina Issah, who had initially introduced herself as Ama Sarpongmaa, admitted to printing fake posters to deceive the public into believing that her husband had died. In the 3-minute-34-second video, Amina further confessed that she had fabricated the story to gain public sympathy and that her husband was actually alive and had not died in a car accident as she had claimed.
Amina also revealed that she had taken a loan from Bill's Microcredit and was struggling to repay it. 'I stay with my husband, and I owe money. Because of that, the family is angry with me, and it is even affecting my marriage. I also owe Bill's Microcredit GHS7,000, and I don't know how I will be able to repay the money. I even thought about killing myself, but because I have a baby, I didn't do it. I applied for a loan from Bill's Microcredit, and when they gave me the loan, a fraudster took the money from my wallet, but I couldn't tell my husband,' she said.
When questioned further, she disclosed that she had masterminded the story with a friend identified as Morgan. 'I didn't decide to come here alone. I did this with a friend called Morgan. He was the one you called during the show,' she added. In a separate video, Amina was seen being escorted out of the premises of Oyerepa FM while some individuals mocked her as she was led away.
