Winners Co-operative Credit Union to Celebrate Women’s Inclusion Week

Akatsi: Winners Co-operative Credit Union, a leading credit union in Volta and beyond, will celebrate this year's Women Inclusion Week from May 11 to May 15 with a series of activities aimed at empowering women and promoting leadership within the credit union movement. The event, themed 'Raising Women Leaders for Sustainable Credit Unions,' will take place at the forecourt of the Union's Head Office in Akatsi.

According to Ghana News Agency, the five-day programme will focus on awareness creation, leadership development, mentorship, health promotion, and community support. Monday's activities will feature a public awareness float, radio sensitisation, and digital campaigns under the awareness and advocacy segment. On Tuesday, the focus will shift to capacity building through leadership training, communication and confidence sessions, and financial literacy education for participants.

Wednesday will be dedicated to mentorship and networking, with discussions on governance and elections, panel discussions, and skills training sessions. Health and wellness activities are scheduled for Thursday, including general health screening, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment. The week-long celebration will conclude on Friday with donation exercises to support vulnerable people within the community.

Organisers stated that the initiative is part of efforts to promote gender inclusion, build women's capacity, and encourage active participation of women in leadership and decision-making within co-operative credit unions.
