Wenchi: The newly constructed residential bungalow intended for the Judicial Service in the Wenchi Municipality has remained unoccupied for several months, allowing weeds to overrun the premises.
According to Ghana News Agency, a recent visit to the site revealed the extent of neglect, with vegetation covering the compound of the facility. Investigations disclosed that the Wenchi High Court Judge, along with other key staff members of the Judicial Service, have been living in rented accommodations due to the unavailability of the bungalow.
In a conversation with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Eric Osei, the Assembly Member for Akrobi Electoral Area, expressed concerns over the facility's disuse. He highlighted the unfortunate situation of developers encroaching upon the area, contributing to the neglect. Mr. Osei also pointed out the presence of other abandoned government projects within the municipality, describing them as a misallocation of valuable public resources.
Mr. Osei was unable to provide specific reasons for the bungalow's inactivity but urged the Wenchi Traditional Council to facilitate the process of transferring the facility to the Judicial Service for its intended purpose.
