War Memorial Hospital to Conduct Mass Burial for Unidentified Bodies

Navrongo: The management of the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo has announced plans to conduct a mass burial for unidentified and unclaimed bodies, currently held at the facility's morgue.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Abra ham Titigah, the Hospital's Medical Superintendent, stated in a press release that there are currently five unidentified bodies occupying space in the mortuary. The hospital is facing constraints in managing the morgue capacity, prompting this decision.

'Management wishes to notify the public that from Friday, 27th March 2026, uncollected bodies will be disposed of appropriately by the facility,' the statement read. The hospital's administration is urging members of the public who have missing relatives to visit the mortuary for identification as soon as possible.

The announcement underscores the importance of community awareness and prompt action in identifying missing persons, as the hospital seeks to manage its resources efficiently while respecting the dignity of the deceased.
