Accra: Wa East: Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Wa East, has announced a commitment to sponsor the education of the top performer in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Senior High School through to the tertiary level.
According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Jasaw made this pledge while visiting several Junior High Schools in the district to observe the ongoing mock examinations, which he is sponsoring for BECE candidates. This initiative has become an annual event aimed at adequately preparing students for their final exams.
The MP's office revealed that, in addition to supporting students, there are plans to form a committee dedicated to developing strategies to reward hardworking teachers in the district. Dr. Jasaw highlighted the essential role that teachers play in maintaining Wa East's consistent academic performance.
During his address to the candidates, Dr. Jasaw encouraged them to focus on their studies and excel in the upcoming BECE. His visit was accompanied by Mr. Adamu Sayibu, the District Chief Executive for Wa East, the Wa East District Education Director, and some NDC executives from the constituency.
Both Dr. Jasaw and Mr. Sayibu motivated the teachers to continue their dedication to improving educational outcomes in the district.
