Volta Region Sets Ambitious Goal to Become Ghana’s Technology Capital

Bomasah highlighted successful entrepreneurs with regional ties, such as Eyram Tawia of Leti Arts and Alloysius Attah of Farmerline, and noted VTIS's role in fostering mentorship, networking, and knowledge-sharing. Another Co-Founder, Courage Asase, emphasized talent as the region's competitive advantage, while advocating for strong institutions, investment, reliable internet, and workspaces. He called for direct investment from organizations to establish operations in the region. Opening the summit on behalf of the Volta Regional Minister, Assistant Director Yanick Noah Agboado described VTIS as a bold declaration of the region's readiness to embrace the future. He highlighted technology's transformative impact on education, employment, production, communication, and solutions to societal challenges. The minister pledged the Regional Coordinating Council's commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to promote investment, technological advancement, skills development, and inclusive economic growth. He encouraged summit participants to form partnerships, exchange knowledge, and develop practical solutions while urging young innovators to dream boldly and pursue continuous learning. VTIS is expected to return later in 2026 as a platform uniting innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers, educators, and young people, aiming to establish the Volta Region as a leading innovation hub in Ghana and beyond.
