According to Ghana Web, the Terenga Lions won their second AFCON trophy after beating host nation Morocco 1-0 in the final on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat. This defeat marks Morocco's second loss in the Africa Cup of Nations, following their 2-1 defeat to neighbors Tunisia in the 2004 edition at the Stade Olympique de Radès.
