Accra: Actress Vicky Zugah has opened up about her experiences with potential partners during her celibacy journey, revealing that men tend to "quietly disappear" when she expresses her desire for a sex-free relationship.
According to Ghana Web, Vicky shared her experiences in a video posted on her TikTok page on March 26, 2026, detailing her decision to pursue celibacy from December 2025 to March 2026. She described how she informs potential partners of her stance on abstaining from sex, which often leads to them exiting her life without explanation.
Vicky explained that her decision to embrace celibacy stemmed from a realization that she had been attracting the same type of men repeatedly. In an effort to change this pattern, she decided to remove sex from her relationships. Since making this decision, she has engaged with approximately 10 men, some of whom she met in person, while others she did not meet due to geographical distances, as they do not reside in Ghana.
The actress observed that many men initially take her celibacy declaration lightly, assuming she might eventually change her mind. However, once they understand her seriousness, they often vanish without further communication.
Vicky also took the opportunity to encourage other women to consider celibacy as a means to discern genuine intentions from those merely seeking physical relationships. She emphasized that celibacy allows individuals to see beyond superficial attractions and identify serious partners, highlighting the prevalence of casual relationships and the accessibility of sex in today's society.
