Winneba: The resurrection of Jesus teaches us that no situation is beyond redemption and just as the sealed tomb could not hold Christ, no difficulty confronting our nation is beyond God's power to overturn. "In times when economic pressures seem overwhelming, social tensions threaten unity, corruption challenges integrity while fear and uncertainty grip the hearts of citizens, but we must remember that when God steps in, opposition is overruled." These profound words were delivered by Ven Father Aaron Moses Kwamena Eduah, Parish Priest/Archdeacon of Saint John the Divine Anglican Church in Winneba, during his Easter sermon titled 'God steps in, opposition is overruled, (Matthew 28:5-7).
According to Ghana News Agency, Ven Father Eduah addressed the nation, emphasizing the significance of Easter as a reminder that God intervenes during the darkest moments. He highlighted that Easter is a time to reflect on how God stepped into the crisis of sin, death, and hopelessness, overturning what seemed like irreversible defeat through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This divine act, he said, demonstrates that no opposition-be it political, economic, social, or spiritual-can withstand the authority and power of God.
Ven Father Eduah urged the Executive, Legislature, and the Judiciary to allow integrity to guide them in all their endeavors. He stated that impossibilities could become testimonies with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, transforming obstacles into pathways for national progress. He noted that fear must give way to faith, and when God intervenes, courage replaces despair, allowing God's glory to be revealed in the nation's affairs.
He called for persistent prayer, faith, and righteousness as paths to divine intervention, urging citizens to obey God's principles and seek Him wholeheartedly. Ven Father Eduah declared that obstacles to national progress would be removed, voices of opposition silenced, and delays in advancement turned into acceleration.
Concluding his sermon, Ven Father Eduah emphasized that Easter is a call for renewal, transformation, and hope. He encouraged all to rise with a renewed commitment to building a nation grounded in justice, unity, and the fear of God, hoping that the power of the resurrection would bring peace, progress, and prosperity to the nation.
