UPSA to Commission JK Horgle Transport and Logistics Centre of Excellence

Accra: The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) will officially commission the JK Horgle Transport and Logistics Centre of Excellence on Thursday, 2nd July, at the Fourth Floor of the Abednego Okoe Towers, UPSA, Accra. A statement issued by the UPSA said the Centre had been established in honour of Dr. JK Horgle, a highly respected figure in Ghana's transport and logistics industry whose years of hard work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence had made a lasting impact on the sector.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Centre is expected to become a leading hub for research, professional training, industry collaboration, and the development of future leaders in transport and logistics. Dr. Horgle is recognized for building a strong reputation as a trusted transporter of petroleum products, reflecting a legacy of reliability, integrity, and service. The initiative forms part of UPSA's ongoing commitment to strengthening the link between academia and industry while supporting national development through practical and professional education.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to bring together leaders from academia, industry, government, and the business community to celebrate what many describe as a major milestone for Ghana's transport and logistics sector. Speaking ahead of the launch, Professor Samuel Antwi, the Director of the Centre, described the initiative as "one of a kind and a strategic investment in knowledge, innovation, and human capital development for one of Ghana's most important sectors."
