Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced that Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been killed as a result of US-Israeli military strikes on Tehran. President Trump described the event as "justice" for the people of Iran, Americans, and "people from many countries throughout the world."
According to Ghana Web, President Trump stated that the bombing would continue, asserting that "this is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country." The announcement follows a series of coordinated attacks across Iran by US and Israeli forces. Earlier, Israel reported the elimination of seven Iranian officials, excluding the supreme leader.
In retaliation, Iran has launched attacks throughout the Middle East, with reports of strikes in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, and Kuwait-locations with US military bases or allied to the US. The Red Crescent has reported that more than 200 people have been killed across Iran. Iranian media have also reported that at least 85 individuals lost their lives when an airstrike targeted a girls' school.
