Bokankye: A young truck mate has reportedly lost his life after being electrocuted during sand offloading operations at Bokankye in the Ashanti Region. In a video shared on X on June 12, 2026, the truck involved in the operation was allegedly offloading sand beneath high-tension power lines when its raised tipper body came into contact with a live electrical wire. The truck mate was reportedly electrocuted and died at the scene.
According to Ghana Web, the driver also suffered an electric shock while attempting to assess the situation after the incident. He is currently receiving medical treatment. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
