Top Commanders Reassigned as IGP Yohuno Shakes Up Police Leadership

Accra: The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has carried out a significant shake-up in the leadership of the Ghana Police Service. The changes, detailed in a letter signed by IGP Yohuno, include the reassignment of senior police officers holding directorship positions. Notably, the Director General in charge of Technology, COP Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba, has been moved to serve as Director General of the National Protection Directorate (NAPD).

According to Ghana Web, several regional police commanders have also been affected. DCOP Charles K. Adu is now the Regional Commander of the Eastern Sector (ESR), while DCOP Isaac Asante has been transferred from the Eastern Region to the National Headquarters. The shake-up follows a recent Volta cocaine bust, where officers were commended for rejecting a $20,000 bribe, leading to promotions for those involved.
