Kpeve: A delegation representing Togbe Afede XIV has undertaken a feasibility assessment to support the proposed expansion of the Kpeve Water Treatment Plant.
According to Ghana News Agency, executives of Strategic Initiatives Limited, representing the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, along with their Chinese partners, visited the Kpeve Water Pumping and Treatment Station on Saturday. This visit was part of an ongoing feasibility study for a proposed investment aimed at increasing the plant's production capacity.
The delegation, accompanied by Volta Regional Minister Mr. James Gunu and other local government officials, inspected the facility to understand its current operational status. Mr. Eric Avornyo, the Station Manager of the Kpeve Water Pumping and Treatment Station, briefed the delegation about the facility's operations, its current production capacity, and its vital role in supplying potable water to communities across the Volta Region.
He further highlighted the operational challenges faced by the station and emphasized the urgent need to enhance production capacity to meet the increasing demand for safe drinking water in the region. The proposed investment aims to bolster the region's water infrastructure by expanding the plant, thereby improving the supply of safe, reliable, and sustainable potable water to the residents.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts to evaluate the technical and operational requirements necessary for the proposed investment before its potential implementation. If undertaken, the initiative is expected to significantly enhance water security and support socio-economic development across the Volta Region.
