Accra: In recent years, several prominent Ghanaian pastors have faced intense scrutiny online over allegations of extramarital affairs. Most of these revelations surface when alleged side chicks take to social media to rant about their relationships or casually post romantic videos and messages, sparking widespread debate. This article explores some Ghanaian pastors who have allegedly been involved in side chick controversies.
According to Ghana Web, Rev. Isaac Kwaku Obofour, founder of Anointed Palace Chapel, is the latest Ghanaian pastor to be dragged online over allegations of extramarital affairs. The controversy began with cryptic posts exchanged between Obofour's legal wife, Queen Ciara; Maame Sika, a restaurateur; and another individual identified as Kwantengmaa on the pastor's birthday. On February 1, 2026, Maame Sika, alleged to be the pastor's side chick, posted a birthday message on Facebook referring to herself as 'Osofo Maame Sika', a title that translates to 'pastor's wife.' The post was accompanied by a photo of herself and Rev. Obofour in matching outfits, striking what many described as a couple's pose.
This development escalated the situation, sparking massive reactions online. Shortly after, Queen Ciara responded by flaunting her wedding ring in a video captioned 'The original.' Rev. Obofour, in response to the situation, stated on social media that he answers to no one and cautioned critics to desist from speaking ill of him.
Prophet Emmanuel Akwasi Boakye, popularly known as Prophet Ogyaba, was embroiled in a controversy in January 2025 after an alleged former side chick shared disturbing details of their relationship. In a viral live video, the woman, identified as Cassie, claimed that the founder of Ogyaba's Palace had threatened her life, alleging that she received several threatening messages after she vowed to expose him. Cassie further claimed her life took a turn for the worse after her involvement with the pastor.
In response, Prophet Ogyaba admitted in a social media video that he had indeed been romantically involved with Cassie. He stated: 'I accept the allegations. I have had an affair with her before. I am not made of wood, so yes, I've been with her. Since she has decided to tarnish my image, I'll reply in kind. I'll go on a T-shirt and billboard campaign to tarnish her image as well.'
Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of International God's Way Church, has also faced multiple allegations of extramarital affairs. In 2016, he publicly denied claims that he had a sexual relationship with the wife of one of his junior pastors. He clarified that the woman, identified as Gifty, was single and not married to the pastor as initially reported. Later, Bishop Obinim was also accused of having an affair with actress Benedicta Gafah.
Addressing the allegations, he admitted: 'I can swear with my Bible and my ministry that I have not slept with anybody's wife. At that time, the lady was not married, but I slept with her. She even wanted to have a child with me, but I told her God had not given me the go-ahead to marry her. Even Sefa Kayi interviewed me about it, and I confirmed having an affair with the lady.' Obinim's alleged relationship with Benedicta Gafah has remained in the news to date, with his wife reacting to it at one point. He has now cautioned trolls and those linking him to the actress, stressing that the controversy is affecting his marriage and image.
