Tano North MCE Highlights Broader Scope of Quality Education Beyond Classroom

Tano north: Mr. Pius Sampson Opoku, the Tano North Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region, has reaffirmed the government's dedication to enhancing quality education for Ghanaian children. Emphasizing the importance of education as a legacy, he highlighted that the journey toward quality education extends beyond traditional classroom settings.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Opoku stressed the significance of integrating curricular activities both within and outside classroom environments during the fourth edition of the Annual Youth Career Guidance fair for basic schools in the area. He urged school children to leverage government interventions, remain diligent in their studies, and encouraged teachers and families to guide the youth in selecting career paths that would shape their futures.

The Tano North Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) organized the forum, which took place at Terchire in the municipality. The event attracted school children, security services, health professionals, educators, and engineers. Mr. Opoku inspired the students with words of encouragement, stating, "Don't be afraid to dream big because your future is in your own hands."

Mr. Stephen Tia Adams, the Tano North Municipal Director of Education, elaborated on the fair's objectives, which included creating opportunities for students to engage with professionals to identify their talents and capabilities. He emphasized the importance of this interaction in helping students select appropriate courses leading to successful careers and positive societal impacts. Mr. Adams also expressed gratitude to Otumfuo Brempong Dr. Okoh Agyemang Baokye II, the Chief of Terchire, for his unwavering support for quality education in the region.

Madam Veronica Kumi Yeboah, the Tano North Schools Improvement Support Officer of the GES, initiated the youth career guidance fair with a focus on preparing candidates for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). She encouraged the candidates to study diligently to achieve academic success. Participants at the event included students from Duayaw-Nkwanta, Bomaa, Tanoso, Yamfo, Terchire, and Adrobaa Circuits of the GES.

Otumfuo Brempong Boakye II, the Chief of Techire, presided over the event and praised the directorate for their initiative. He called for continued support from the Municipal Assembly to sustain the fair and advance educational growth and development in the municipality.
