Suspected Armed Robbers Allegedly Kill Lecturer, Steal GHS30,000

Maame krobo: Eric Blankson, a lecturer and storekeeper at the Amankwa Fisheries Agriculture Technical Institute (AFATI), was brutally stabbed to death in his room in Maame Krobo, Afram Plains South District. The attackers reportedly fled with a sum of approximately GHS30,000.

According to Ghana Web, Blankson had returned to the town for the weekend and was last seen at his Mobile Money (MoMo) shop with his brother. A heavy downpour led to a blackout in Maame Krobo, prompting Blankson to go back to his room for the night while his brother stayed at the shop to study.

Upon returning home, Blankson's brother found the lecturer's sandals outside and noticed the bedroom door locked from the outside with a padlock. Alarmed, he forced the door open, only to find Blankson lying in a pool of blood. Despite rushing him to a nearby health centre, Blankson was pronounced dead, and his body has since been placed in the morgue.

Blankson's brother mentioned that the deceased had recently secured a promotion and was preparing to start his new role at the Peki Training College. Tragically, his life was abruptly ended before he could transition to his new position.

Authorities have arrested one person in connection with the incident, who is currently assisting police with ongoing investigations.
