Varna: Stiliyana Nikolova clinched a gold medal in the clubs final and a silver medal for her ribbon routine at the 2026 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, hosted at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna from May 27 to 31.
According to Ghana News Agency, Nikolova was awarded 29.750 points for her clubs performance, which included 13.4 for difficulty, 8.200 for execution, and 8.200 for artistry, with a 0.050 penalty. This victory marks her second consecutive European champion title in the clubs category. In the same event, Maria Borisova from Russia secured the second position with 29.200 points, while Daniela Munits from Israel also scored 29.200, placing third.
In the ribbon routine, Nikolova secured a silver medal with a score of 28.750 points, comprised of 13.1 for difficulty, 7.950 for execution, and 7.700 for artistry. This achievement adds to her collection of medals at the Championships, which includes a team gold, and silver medals in the all-around and ball final categories.
Another Bulgarian competitor, Eva Brezalieva, delivered a commendable performance in the ribbon routine, finishing sixth with a score of 27.000, which included 11.5 for difficulty, 7.700 for execution, and 7.800 for artistry.
In the ribbon final, Germany's Darja Varfolomeev emerged as the champion with a score of 30.000 points, while Russia's Maria Borisova claimed the third spot with 28.400 points. Overall, Bulgaria has amassed a total of eight medals at the 2026 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, comprising four gold and four silver.
