Accra: Stanbic Bank Ghana has donated GHS50,000 and assorted food items to Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, in observance of Ramadan. The bank's gesture was in support of the Muslim community and formed part of its commitment to humanitarian causes and promoting national unity during the sacred Islamic season.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation was intended to deepen Stanbic Bank's longstanding tradition of honoring the Chief Imam. Mr. Musah Abdallah, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank, emphasized the annual nature of this event, designed to pay homage to the Chief Imam during Ramadan. He expressed that the bank's support was a small way of assisting His Eminence in leading the community during the holy month.
Mr. Abdallah commended the Chief Imam for his contribution to peace and national cohesion, highlighting the importance of stability for economic growth and business development. He noted that the Chief Imam's role in national coherence was immense and appreciated the example he sets, stating that business thrives in peace.
Upon receiving the items, Sheikh Sharubutu expressed gratitude to Stanbic Bank for their continued support, describing the gesture as timely and spiritually significant. He remarked that showing gratitude results in abundance and praised the bank for their goodwill during the auspicious time of Ramadan.
A representative from the Chief Imam's Office also praised the bank for strengthening relations between faith and responsible corporate citizenship, noting that such partnerships contribute to social welfare and national harmony.
The bank's delegation included Musah Abdallah, Nabil Hussayn Abubakar, Hamza Mumuni, Tijani Adam, Idris Alhassan, Abdul Jaleel, Amos Abaidoo, Portia Oduro Morrison, Linda Ebale, Jamila Abdulai, and Noora Ari Goodman.
