Shatta Wale Offers Royalties to Ypee for ‘Ahodwo Las Vegas’ Collaboration

Kumasi: Ghanaian rapper Ypee has revealed that renowned dancehall musician Shatta Wale offered him and his team all the royalties from their collaborative project, "Ahodwo Las Vegas". However, Ypee and his team decided to decline the offer.

According to Ghana Web, Ypee shared in a recent interview on Hammer Time that they turned down Shatta Wale's offer due to the substantial financial investment the dancehall artist made in the project. Shatta Wale spent heavily on both the production and promotion of the song and its accompanying music video.

Ypee explained that despite Shatta Wale's insistence on handing over all royalties and earnings from "Ahodwo Las Vegas," the rapper and his team felt it was inappropriate to accept. They were mindful of the extensive resources Shatta Wale had poured into the project, including his extended stay in Kumasi during its production.

The rapper stated that after internal discussions, they reached a consensus that Shatta Wale should retain all financial benefits from the project. Ypee emphasized that, given the significant scale of the investment, it was only fair for Shatta Wale to receive the earnings, despite his generous offer to relinquish them.
