Accra: Gomoa Central MP and ardent supporter of Shatta Wale, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A-Plus, has stated that the dancehall artist is setting his sights on a concert at Wembley Stadium instead of London's O2 Arena, deeming the latter too small for his fan base.
According to Ghana Web, A-Plus, speaking on United Showbiz, mentioned that Shatta Wale and the SM Movement have refrained from staging a concert at the O2 Arena due to concerns about the venue's limited capacity. He expressed that a concert at such a location could pose risks due to the sheer number of fans, suggesting that it might lead to overcrowding issues.
A-Plus elaborated on the plans, indicating that the camp is exploring possibilities to secure Wembley Stadium, which boasts a capacity of approximately 80,000, or alternatively, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a future event. He stressed the belief that they could fill these larger venues and highlighted the potential benefits such concerts could have for Ghana's tourism and creative arts sectors.
In his address, A-Plus also commended fellow Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy for his accomplishments on the international stage and encouraged other musicians from Ghana to aim for similar achievements. However, he emphasized the necessity of adequate support and sponsorship to facilitate such large-scale events abroad.
