Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s Legendary Status Debated by Shishishi Man

Accra: Music critic and commentator Steve Owusu, popularly known as The Shishishi Man, has praised Sarkodie's relentless work ethic while pushing back on suggestions that the rapper has outgrown competitive award categories and should instead receive legendary recognition.

According to Ghana Web, during a discussion on the TGMA Countdown show on GhanaWeb TV with Elsie Lamar, Shishishi Man emphasized that Sarkodie deserves recognition for his consistent contributions to the music industry. He noted Sarkodie's annual dedication to producing new music, organizing events, and hosting concerts, mentioning the rapper's significant performances in Accra and Kumasi last year.

Despite acknowledging Sarkodie's impressive work, Shishishi Man expressed his disagreement with the notion that Sarkodie and fellow musician Shatta Wale should be regarded as legendary figures at this point in their careers. He argued that it is premature to bestow such honors after just 15 years in the music scene.

Shishishi Man highlighted that while the impact of an artist is crucial in determining legendary status, the longevity of their career is equally important. He concluded by suggesting that discussions about legendary recognition should be postponed until more time has passed.
