Sam George’s Conduct Criticized During Parliamentary Committee Meeting

Accra: A member of the NPP Communications Team, Kwadwo Poku, has criticised Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, over his conduct during the recent Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sitting in Parliament.

According to Ghana Web, Kwadwo Poku's comments were made following Monday's exchange between Sam George and PAC Chairperson Abena Osei-Asare during discussions on telecom infrastructure expansion and service delivery. Speaking on Joy News, and monitored by MyNewsGh, Poku argued that the minister approached the committee session with the wrong attitude and failed to show respect for parliamentary structures.

Kwadwo Poku emphasized that despite Sam George's dual role as a minister and Member of Parliament, he was still expected to respect the authority of the committee chair. "When Sam George went there, he had a premeditated mindset," he said. Poku insisted that entering Parliament requires adherence to its hierarchical structures, including respecting the committee chair's position.

He further claimed that many Ghanaians who viewed clips from the sitting perceived the minister's behavior as arrogant. "The public have watched what happened. Everybody is of the opinion that he was very disrespectful," Poku remarked. He also suggested that upon reflection, Sam George might consider apologizing for his conduct.
