Saltpond: The Mfantseman Saltpond Development Alliance (MSDA), led by Mr James Korsah-Brown, a philanthropist, organised a health walk to honour the late legendary highlife and Afrobeat musician, Mr Ebo Taylor, for his significant contribution to the growth of Mfantseman.
According to Ghana News Agency, the annual walk aims to boost the local economy through Easter festivities while showcasing the area's untapped tourism potential. The event attracted people from various backgrounds who participated to promote peace, unity, and togetherness among the community.
This year's walk featured a special tribute as children, relatives, and family members of the late Ebo Taylor joined to celebrate his enduring legacy, especially in the creative arts industry. The procession stretched for miles, weaving through the principal streets of Abandze and Saltpond, accompanied by rhythmic drumming and songs of unity in various local dialects.
Participants, including children waving miniature flags and elderly individuals supported by younger companions, were joined by bystanders, shopkeepers, and motorists who showed support. Mr Korsah-Brown led the procession, ensuring participation and encouragement for all.
At Saltpond Victoria Park, local leaders and representatives delivered messages of peace and unity as foundations for development. Mr Korsah-Brown's closing remarks urged the community to continue living with respect, understanding, and unity, leaving a lasting impact on participants.
As the event concluded, the sense of unity and hope lingered, marking the walk as a significant event for the community. Mr Ebo Taylor, who passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 90, left a legacy through his music, which combined traditional Ghanaian rhythms with global influences over more than six decades.
