Retired Officers Contribute GHS15,000 to Burma Camp Redevelopment Project

Accra: Two retired military officers have made a significant financial contribution to the ongoing Burma Camp Redevelopment Project, with a donation of GHS15,000. This project is dedicated to upgrading the colonial-era infrastructure within the camp, aiming to provide modern accommodation facilities for the personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

According to Ghana Web, the donation was made by Major Clement Agyemang (Rtd) and Major Festus Atinsiak Adangabey (Rtd) during a presentation held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the General Headquarters. Brigadier General George Abosi Oppong from the Special Projects Office received the donation on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS).

Brigadier General Oppong expressed gratitude towards the retired officers, praising their generosity and dedication to enhancing the living conditions of the current military personnel. During the presentation, Major Agyemang (Rtd) highlighted the long-standing issue of inadequate accommodation within the GAF, noting that it has negatively impacted troop morale.
