Requiem Mass Held in Takoradi for Professor Kofi Blay

Takoradi: A requiem mass has been held for the late Professor Kofi Blay, father of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company, Ms Judith Adjoba Blay. He passed away at the age of 86 following a brief illness. His burial took place at the Esiama Catholic Cemetery in the Ellembelle District after the service at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral in Takoradi. According to Ghana News Agency, the family paid tribute to Prof Blay, recognizing him as a dedicated servant and respected academic who committed his life to mentoring young individuals to become responsible societal members. The requiem mass attracted numerous distinguished guests, including Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources; Mr John Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition; and Dr George Sipa Yankey, former CEO of Ghana Gas Company, among others. The event also saw attendance from other notable figures in the energy and petroleum industries. During the homily, Very Reverend Father F rancis Kofi Lemaire, Vicar-General of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese, encouraged Christians to live by the scripture: 'I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.' Rev. Fr. Lemaire emphasized that Prof Blay led a fulfilled life, responsibly providing for his family and raising children who significantly contribute to national development. He mentioned Ms Adjoba Blay and Madam Yaaba Blay, a lecturer in African Studies, as examples of Prof Blay's successful offspring. He advised Christians to lead exemplary lives and maintain their faith in anticipation of eternal reward.
