Accra: Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), has urged Muslims to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr in a safe and responsible manner while promoting tolerance and national unity.
According to Ghana News Agency, in a statement signed by the Ministry, the Minister called on Muslims to embrace the values of peace, compassion, and social responsibility as they mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of celebrating safely and upholding the principles of tolerance to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of families, communities, and society at large.
Mr. Ibrahim noted that Eid al-Fitr is a significant occasion for reflection, spiritual renewal, and the reaffirmation of commitment to justice and mutual respect. He highlighted that the celebration should serve as a platform to strengthen unity and harmony among citizens, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence across religious and cultural lines.
The Minister encouraged Muslims to use the period to promote understanding and solidarity within their communities while contributing to national development. On behalf of the Ministry, he prayed for peace, harmony, and continued progress for the nation, and wished all Muslims a joyous and memorable Eid celebration.
