Accra: Social Activist and Private Legal Practitioner, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has urged the state to release Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu. According to him, if the state wants a scapegoat in the matter, it should be dealing with the prosecutors who did shoddy work on the matter.
According to Ghana Web, Vormawor's reaction comes after the Attorney General withdrew their stay of execution before the Court of Appeal and filed it in the Supreme Court. He emphasized that there is no reason for the Republic to continue detaining Tamakloe-Attionu and suggested that the focus should shift to those within the Attorney General's department who were responsible for the alleged inadequate prosecution.
Vormawor specifically called out the Director of Public Prosecutions, insisting they should accept responsibility for the situation and resign due to the poorly handled case. Furthermore, he encouraged the legal team of Sedina Tamakloe to file a Habeas Corpus, questioning why she should be made a cause c©l¨bre due to the current Attorney General's reluctance to recognize the prosecution's previous failings.
