Adaklu: Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), emphasized that special recognition and empowering of women is crucial to every nation's development and stability.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ameko shared his views in a telephone interview in relation to the International Women's Day celebration. He highlighted that women are powerful agents of change and leaders, and investing in them would lead to stronger families, healthier communities, and a better future.
International Women's Day, observed annually on March 8, is a global event celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It also serves as a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year's theme is 'Give to gain - Investing in women's empowerment.'
Mr. Ameko stated that by investing in women today, society would benefit from a stronger tomorrow, as women are pivotal agents of change. He noted that their strength and determination continue to inspire, with their resilience and positivity making a daily difference in people's lives.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to all women for their extraordinary contributions towards building a prosperous nation desired by all Ghanaians, and extended his wishes for a happy International Women's Day celebration.
