President Nominates Diana Ayamga as Bongo District Chief Executive

Bongo: The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has announced the nomination of Diana Asoketarige Ayamga as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bongo District Assembly in the Upper East Region.

According to Ghana Web, the nomination was made by President John Dramani Mahama in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended. The official statement, released on April 7, 2026, was signed by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim.

The statement further indicated that "the nomination is pending approval by members of the Bongo District Assembly." The nomination follows an official communication from the Office of the President, referenced OPS.103/26/497, also dated April 7, 2026.
