President Mahama to Sign LGBTQ+ Bill, Confirms Council Member

Sefwi bodi: A Member of the Central Regional Council of State, Mr. Hakeem Addae, has assured Ghanaians that President John Dramani Mahama will proceed to sign the LGBTQ+ legislation once it receives approval from Parliament. He has called for public patience and calmness as the Bill traverses the essential legislative procedures.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Addae conveyed this assurance during his visit to various churches in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District, aligning with the Easter celebrations. He emphasized the importance of peace, tolerance, and unity, especially during such a significant festive period.

In connection with the legislative update, Mr. Isaac Yawson, the District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti Morkwa, discussed several development initiatives undertaken in the district over the past year. These projects encompass the construction of classroom blocks, health facilities, and boreholes, demonstrating the government's commitment to improving local infrastructure.

Mr. Yawson urged residents to maintain optimism, stating that ongoing projects in road infrastructure, access to potable water, and educational facilities are being implemented to boost the district's socio-economic growth.
