President Mahama Dissolves Boards of Nine State Institutions

Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the boards of nine state-owned institutions with immediate effect. The affected institutions include the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG), and TDC Ghana Limited.

According to Ghana Web, the other institutions impacted by this decision are Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited, Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO), Ghana Post Company Limited, the Road Maintenance Trust Fund, and the National Sports Authority.

A statement from the Presidency issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, indicated that the relevant sector ministers have been directed to take all necessary steps to give effect to the dissolution in accordance with applicable laws and governing instruments.

The Presidency also mentioned that the affected boards will be reconstituted in due course. The statement was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications.
