Paris: President John Dramani Mahama is set to hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron during an official visit to France.
According to Ghana Web, this was announced in a statement issued by the Presidency and signed by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu. The statement, dated April 6, 2026, confirmed that the visit comes at the invitation of President Macron.
The talks are scheduled to take place at the €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬°lys©e Palace in Paris, subsequent to President Mahama's attendance at the 2026 One Health Summit in Lyon. The statement highlighted that President Mahama will embark on the official visit to France on Monday, 6 April 2026.
The discussions between President Mahama and President Macron will focus on strengthening the bilateral relations between Ghana and France. Areas of cooperation will include health, education, trade, investment, and regional security, reflecting mutual interests.
Additionally, the Presidency disclosed that President Mahama will be received by senior French officials prior to the meeting, including a reception by His Excellency G©rard Larcher, President of the French Senate, at the Senate House.
President Mahama is anticipated to return to Accra shortly after concluding his bilateral engagement with President Macron.
