Pregnant Woman, Three Others Killed in Fatal Tipper Truck Crash Near Makango

Makango: Four people, including a pregnant woman and her daughter, have reportedly died in a tragic accident in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region. The incident has left the local community in deep mourning.

According to Ghana Web, the accident took place around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The crash involved a Sinotruk HOWO tipper truck with the registration number GB-2359-20. The truck allegedly veered off its lane, crossed onto the opposite side of the road, and collided with a group of women and girls walking to their farms to pick shea nuts.

The incident reportedly occurred at Kinkinlin, near Makango. Eyewitnesses stated that five people were hit during the accident. Four of them died instantly at the scene, while one survivor sustained critical injuries. The injured individual was initially taken to the Salaga Government Hospital and later referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The deceased included a pregnant woman and her daughter, along with another woman and her daughter, leaving the Kinkinlin community in grief over the loss.
