Wenchi: A total of four pregnant girls and four nursing mothers have defied expectations by participating in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. David Baffoe, the Public Relations Officer at the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of Education, revealed this development to the media. He noted that 11 candidates, consisting of seven males and four females, did not attend the examination. Mr. Baffoe explained that two of the absent female candidates traveled abroad after registering for the BECE, while one male candidate was unable to attend due to health issues. Another candidate faced difficulties with double index numbers, preventing participation in the exams.
Mr. Baffoe also mentioned that a total of 205 candidates from Complementary Basic Education (CBET) programs in the municipality are taking part in the BECE. He extended his best wishes for a successful examination to all candidates. He further assured that the conduct of the BECE in the municipality has been smooth, with all 10 centers operating successfully.
