Police Launch Manhunt for Arabic Teacher Accused of Defiling Minors

Sekondi: A middle-aged man has been declared wanted by the Western Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service for defilement.

According to Ghana Web, a statement issued by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Western Region, Superintendent of Police Olivia Adiku, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, identifies the suspect as Sule Anas. He is wanted in connection with the defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge of two minors. The disturbing incidents reportedly took place at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi, where Anas was employed as an Arabic teacher. Community leaders had hired him to teach Arabic to children on weekends.

Police investigations reveal that Anas lured the two minors into a store room inside the mosque under the guise of performing spiritual cleansing. Instead, he allegedly sodomized and defiled them. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Gender Court in Sekondi on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Further details provided by the police describe the suspect as fair in complexion and approximately 5.7 feet tall. Authorities believe he might be hiding in neighboring countries, specifically La C´te d'Ivoire or Togo. The police have urged the public to come forward with any credible information regarding his whereabouts.

The Western Regional Police Command has appealed to anyone with information about Anas Sule's location to contact the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, the nearest police station, or call emergency numbers 191 or 112 to facilitate his arrest.
